ALL THE  CANDIDATES QUALIFIED FOR IOC & INTERVIEW  ARE ASKED TO REPORT THE TUTORIAL SECTION OF SATYAJIT RAY FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE, KOLKATA BY 9:30 AM ON THE DATE OF ORIENTATION

Certificates and mark sheets of the above-mentioned candidates will be verified at the time of Registration at SRFTI. Ineligible applicants or applicants who are unable to produce the original Certificates and Mark Sheets will automatically lose their candidature for IOC/Interview/Admission at any time in the process of selection without any notice.The candidates who have not received final mark sheet shall get time till 31st July, 2018 for submitting the same.

FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF INTERACTIVE ORIENTATION COURSE:

1. Admit card of the admission test.

2. All Original Admit cards and Mark-sheets.

3. Self Attested photocopies of all Mark-sheets and Admit Cards.

4. Copy of the application form.

5. Three stamp-size (2X2.5 cm) colour photographs.

6. Parents’/guardian’s income certificate or any one of the followings:

a. Copy of the Income Tax Return.

b. Copy of Form 16.

c. Copy of the Pay Slip/ Salary Certificate from the employer.

d. Income Certificate from local government.

9. Aadhar card is mandatory. In case one doesn’t have an Aadhar card or find any discrepancy in the Aadhar Card data, they can carry Photo ID card, which has the postal address, of the candidate (e.g. voter Id card, Driving address, passport etc.).

10. Original Caste Certificate (For SC/ST candidates) and two attested photocopies thereof. OBC-non creamy layer candidates will be required to produce original certificate along with two self attested copies of category certificates, issued after January 2018 by a competent authority in the prescribed format. Download OBC_NCL_CERTIFICATE from the above hyper-link. Training Programme on Library Automation (TPLA): Emphasizing on digital and audio-visual media

31st May to 03rd June 2018

Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata is organizing a Training Programme on Library Automation (TPLA): emphasizing on digital and audio-visual media from 31st May to 3rd June 2018. The main objectives of the Workshop are

• To create awareness among professionals about open source technology & its application in library.
• To make the library professionals technically sound so as to automate their library independently without any support & also to develop the online application with the help of Content Management System.
• To enable the Library & Information Professionals to face the technological challenges such as installation, data migration, multi- branch handling etc.
• And, to strengthen the society & professionals.

Workshop Theme

The main theme of the workshop is to provide theoretical foundation as well as hands-on training keeping in mind the rapid development in the field of IT to the academic and library and information professionals. The workshop intends to cover the essential concepts and technologies for smooth functioning and building a Smart Library. A true hands-on training will be imparted to all the participants enabling them for installation and running some of the essential open source software in their libraries or information centres.

Koha: Koha is the first Open Source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) that can take care of all library activities such as Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, Serial Control & Online Public Access Catalogue. Koha is based on International library standards and protocols (such as MARC21, Z39.50 etc.) that ensures that Koha data can be exchanged between similar ILMSs. & any other library management system. Dspace: DSpace is popular software to develop Institutional Repositories (IR) . It allows an IR in any format – in text, video, audio, and data. It indexes your work, so users can search and retrieve your items. It preserves your digital work over long term. DSpace provides a way to manage your research materials and publications in a professionally maintained repository to give them greater visibility and accessibility over time. Library and IT professionals, Students of LIS, Research Scholars, LIS and Computer Science professionals can attend this workshop. Participant should have the basic knowledge of computer handling, installation of application software.

Aim and Objective of the under graduate 10+2 level academic program for the SRFTI temporary campus at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh

Aim:

By the end of the program the 10+2 students are aware about the followings.
1. Cinema in India is a very vast field that offers definite career options in its various departments at play and the same can be pursued after the completion of graduation.
2. The knowledge of the “basic apparatus” and “sensibility” required in making films.

Objective:

10+2 Students after doing the program will be able to chart a path for self to pursue filmmaking as a profession and accordingly choose a graduation and a post graduation program that will empower them further in reaching the goal.
