Skill Development Programme
Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute launched short term foundation courses in the latest trends of Media & Entertainment in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission and Math and Peerless Skill Academy. The content of the courses was framed as per guidelines of National Skill Development Council. The inauguration took place on April 5, 2019 in presence of Swami Vedatitananda, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Shilpa Mandira, Belur as Chief Guest and Shri Kalyan Debnath, Chief Executive Officer of Peerless Group Academy.
The first edition of the courses commenced from April 06, 2019 to June 22, 2019 during the weekends. A total of fifty seven participants had completed these courses. Certificates were awarded to the participants in a Valedictory function held on June 29, 2019 at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. In this event, two short films, made by the participants, were also screened that found high appreciation.
In order to widen cinema, electronic and digital media training in districts of West Bengal, the second edition of a ten weeks short-term foundation courses in media and entertainment commenced in North 24-Parganas at Barrackpore from August 3, 2019 to October 19, 2019. The objective of the course was to facilitate the rural youth to develop skills for self-employment.
The third edition of a short-term course in Digital Filmmaking successfully completed at Siliguri in January, 2020
