SRFTI invites applications from Indian nationals for empanelment of Producers/Production Houses having proven credentials for making cost effective documentaries, docu-features, corporate/ad films, tele/short films, online course modules, TV/Web series etc. SRFTI ex-students will get preference in the process of empanelment as producer or production house owned by them. Interested applicants are requested to please download and get printed the following Application Form and fill in the blank columns with required documents and submit the same to the:

Filled up application with required documents in sealed envelope is to reach this office positively within 15 days of publication of this advertisement. Decision of SRFTI authority in regard to empanelment shall be final and binding.

Please note the following:

  1. Producers/Production houses will be empanelled on the basis of the varieties of productions executed by them based on their experience.
  1. A show-reel of the productions, done earlier/ongoing, to be submitted along with the application in a DVD (within 20 minutes) marking their name on the DVD.
  1. Empanelled producers/production houses should have a capacity of investment to carry on the production of the film/episode, in case any work is awarded to them/her/him.
  1. Post diploma projects (Earlier/ongoing) will only be considered in case of SRFTI ex-students.
  1. An affidavit to the effect that information submitted in respect of programmes produced, other relevant aspects are correct and that the applicant shall have no objection to termination of empanelment and programme assignment, if any, if the information furnished is found to be incorrect.
  1. The applicant must be willing to produce any document as may be demanded by SRFTI.

International Training Programme on Library Automation for Professional Enrichment (ITPLAPE): emphasizing on current technology trends

Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata is organizing an International Training Programme on Library Automation for Professional Enrichment (ITPLAPE): emphasizing on current technology trends from 10th December to 16th December 2018. The main objectives of the training programme are

• To create awareness among professionals about open source technology & its application in library.
• To make the library professionals technically sound so as to automate their library independently without any support & also to develop the online application with the help of Content Management System.
• To enable the Library & Information Professionals to face the technological challenges such as installation, data migration, multi- branch handling etc.
• And, to strengthen the society & professionals.

Theme of the Training programme

The main theme of the training programme is to provide theoretical foundation as well as hands-on training keeping in mind the rapid development in the field of IT to the academic and library and information professionals. The training programme intends to cover the essential concepts and technologies for smooth functioning and building a Smart Library. A true hands-on training will be imparted to all the participants enabling them for installation and running some of the essential open source software in their libraries or information centres.

The following topics will be covered:

• Managing Digital / Audio-Visual Resources in Libraries
• Digital repository of audio-visual resources
• Application of Open Source Software in the Libraries
• Open source software like Koha, DSpace etc.
• Discovery tools and services
• Vufind – Integration of Koha and Dspace
• Citation management and Look up through Zotero
• Current technology trends

Librarians, Working professionals and research scholars in the field of Library and Information Science, Information Specialists, Faculty members of Library and Information Science, Officers under the Central or State Government or Union Territories, interested academicians, and other disciplines may attend this advanced training programme which will be very effective to run and use modern library. It may also be noted that IT Professionals working in Library are also suitable to attend the courses.

The week-long intensive and advanced training programme cum training courses on Library and Information Science will help him/her to earn-

Aim:

By the end of the program the students are aware about the followings.
1. Cinema in India is a very vast field that offers definite career options in its various departments at play and the same can be pursued for future studied and practice.
2. The knowledge of the “basic apparatus” and “sensibility” required in making films.

Objective:

Students after doing the program will be able to chart a path for self to pursue filmmaking as a profession and accordingly, the program will empower them further in reaching the goal.

The eligibility criteria and fee structure are same as mentioned in our website as well as in prospectus for admission 2018. Important instruction to candidates for Admission 2018

The entire Admission Process is divided into two phases.

The first phase includes submission of the following:

  1. An amount of Rs. 92,675/- to be submitted online to SRFTI account. The account detail is given below:
    State Bank of India, BBGB Branch, Account No: 10485372096, IFSC: SBIN0006789 The transaction id need to be sent to srfti.admission2018@gmail.com for confirmation.
  2. Those who are yet not Graduate shall have to submit the final mark sheet / certificate of Graduation on or before 31st July 2018. The candidate shall scan and send the copy by email immediately after receiving the same. Otherwise his/her candidature will be cancelled and the next candidate will be called for admission. In such cases, the admission amount will be refunded deducting the admission fee of Rs.3,300/-.
  3. Those who have yet not submitted the OBC_NCL certificate as per proper format are advised to submit the scan copy of the same by email along with the transaction id. Otherwise his/her candidature will be cancelled and the next candidate will be called for admission. In such cases, the admission amount will be refunded deducting the admission fee of Rs.3,300/-.
  4. The selected candidates as per third merit list should complete the first phase of their admission by 30.07.2018. One candidate cannot take admission in two disciplines i.e. in ‘Three Year Postgraduate ProgrammeIn Cinema’ and also in ‘Two Year Postgraduate Programme In Electronic And Digital Media’ if he/she is selected in both. The candidate will be provisionally admitted only after completion of the first phase of admission.

The Second phase of admission will start only after the completion of the first phase. In the second phase, the candidates need to submit the following documents at the Tutorial Section in person before the session starts.

All Affidavit/Bond/Undertaking should be submitted on separate stamp papers duly notarised.

Candidates who are presently enrolled as students in any institution affiliated to any universities/Institute or working as an employee in any organization will be required to produce a withdrawal/resignation certificate from the University/Institution/organization concerned at the time of 2nd phase of admission to SRFTI. A declaration will be required for ‘giving up the profession during the course’ for self-employed candidate. If they are unable to submit the same at the time of 2nd phase of admission, they may apply to the Dean for an extension of time. In any case, students who fail to submit such document will not be allowed to continue after one week of the commencement of the curriculum. Students will not be allowed to engage themselves academically or professionally in any educational / occupational institute or organization during their academic tenure. Candidates who are not students or employees have to give a self-declaration of the same.

The first phase of admission of the candidate is provisional. If the candidate fails to submit all the documents at the second phase within the stipulated date, the admission will be cancelled and a selective portion of the fees will be refunded to the candidate.

The candidates admitted to the first Semester should have at least 60% attendance of total classes held during the first month, failing which his/her studentship will be treated as cancelled without further notice.

The admission process is complete after completion of 2nd phase of admission.
