Young Sayak gets bullied in his new school. To fit in and make new friends, Sayak tells larger than life stories around the paintings that he makes. No one believes him, apart from Tanmay, who really believes Sayak has pet dolphins and an airport full of planes at his home. Sayak finds a loyal friend in Tanmay.

At school, Tanmay struggles with his homework, for which he has to write an essay about ‘A Trip to My Friend’s Home’. Tanmay has never been to any of his friend’s home.

One day Sayak invites Tanmay to his home for his birthday. Tanmay coaxes his mother to buy him a gift for Sayak. Tanmay chooses a submarine for Sayak’s aquarium full of dolphins.

Upon reaching Sayak’s home, there are no dolphins, nor are there any aeroplanes. There are only more stories about how the dolphins outgrew the aquarium. Tanmay feels like a fool for believing in Sayak’s stories. He keeps his distance from the next day onwards.

Regardless of all this, Sayak has left a deep impression in Tanmay. What Sayak spoke of isn’t about truth and lies, it’s about the stories that sound truer than everything else that is around them. While writing his essay, Tanmay himself has turned into a storyteller.

One afternoon other pupils in the class corner Sayak for his lies. Tanmay sees it from a distance at first. When Sayak stood alone not knowing what to say, Tanmay steps ahead, stands by Sayak and says, “It’s all true. I have seen it all in his home. The dolphins, the aeroplane, the submarine…”

The other pupils in class keep hearing in amazement.
