Anti Ragging Cell

In pursuance of the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and in supersession of any previous orders on the subject, the Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institute is hereby constituted with the following members:

Functions

The Anti-Ragging Committee shall function strictly in accordance with the UGC Regulations and shall, inter alia:
  1. Prohibit, prevent, and eliminate ragging in all its forms, including physical, verbal, psychological, and cyber ragging, within the Institute and its hostels.
  2. Ensure wide publicity of anti-ragging measures and conduct awareness and orientation programmes for students, parents, faculty, and staff at the beginning of each academic session.
  3. Monitor compliance with UGC requirements relating to anti-ragging undertakings/affidavits by students and parents.
  4. Oversee campus and hostel vigilance and supervise the functioning of the Anti-Ragging Squad, wardens, and supervisory staff.
  5. Receive complaints relating to ragging, ensure prompt inquiry, and recommend appropriate action in accordance with UGC Regulations.
  6. Coordinate with local administration and law-enforcement agencies wherever necessary.
  7. Submit reports and compliance status to the Head of the Institution and to the University Grants Commission or other authorities, as required.

Tenure

The Anti-Ragging Committee shall remain functional at all times and shall ordinarily be constituted on an annual basis. The tenure of the present Committee shall be one year or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The Committee shall discharge its functions strictly in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2023 and other instructions/guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission or Government of India from time to time.
