About FTII Itanagar

Set amidst a serene, lush green campus in the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh, the Film and Television Institute of India, Itanagar campus (FTII Itanagar), offers an inspiring and immersive ecosystem for the next generation of actors, writers, and documentary filmmakers. Guided by accomplished faculty, the institute nurtures creative talent while equipping students with the skills, discipline, and vision required to excel in their respective media domains.
Located at Jollang-Rakap (Jote), Papum Pare, FTII Itanagar is administered by the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, a Deemed to be University (SRFTI), Kolkata, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. The institute offers three prestigious two-year Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Screen Acting, Screenwriting, and Documentary Cinema, each structured over four semesters. A common foundation semester in audio-visual storytelling ensures that all students develop a shared cinematic language and a strong conceptual grounding before advancing into specialised training.
The curriculum is meticulously designed to integrate rigorous theoretical engagement with intensive hands-on practice. Through workshops, master classes by eminent practitioners, and collaborative productions, students gain both intellectual depth and real-world professional experience.
FTII Itanagar is a centre for passionate and committed creative minds to join a vibrant academic community and embark on a transformative journey—one that shapes artistic excellence, professional integrity, and a meaningful presence in India’s dynamic media and entertainment ecosystem.
