Samik Bandyopadhyay is a critic of Indian art, theatre and film. He is a scholar of English literature. He has written a number of books and essays. He is, at present, a Visiting Fellow (Professor) at the School of Arts and Aesthetics in Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi. Prof. Swapan Kumar Chakravorty is Distinguished Professor in the Humanities, Presidency University, Kolkata. He has served as Professor of English, Jadavpur University, Director General of the National Library of India, Kolkata, Secretary and Curator of Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata. Joint Director of School of Cultural Texts and Records. He is also the author of several books and articles
Dr. Supriya Chaudhuri is Professor (Emerita) in the Department of English, Jadavpur University, Calcutta. Her research interests include many areas of literary and cultural history. She has published several essays on the cinema of Satyajit Ray, including a chapter in Moinak Biswas’s edited collection, Apu and After: Revisiting Ray’s Cinema (2006).
Anindya Sengupta is the assistant professor of Dept. of Film Studies, Jadavpur University. He has teaching experience since 2004 and is specialized in Bengali Cinema and Satyajit Ray. His area of research is ‘Authorship and Bengali Cinema; Films of Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak.’
Subrata Mukhopadhyay is a contemporary author. He has written several Bengali books like ‘Aay Mon Berate Jabi’, ‘Chitrapat’, ‘Parikha’, ‘Rokter Niche’, Rasik’ and so on. He is awarded Sahitya Academy for his novel ‘Birasan’ in 2012.
Amaresh Chakraburtty is the Professor and Head of Department of Direction and Screenplay Writing, SRFTI.
Shaji Neelakantan Karun is a National Award-winning Indian film director and cinematographer. His debut film Piravi (1988) won the Caméra d’Or – Mention d’honneur at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival. He was the Premiere Chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy and was also the Executive Chairman of International Film Festival of Kerala from 1998 to 2001. He is best known for his award winning films Piravi (1989), Vanaprastham (1999) andKutty Srank (2009).
Kamaleshwar Mukherjee is a Begali film maker, physician by training moved on initially to the profession of advertisement making and then film making. He is the author of the film Natobor Notout’ and directed ‘Uro Chithi’, ‘Meghe Dhaka Tara’, ‘Chander Pahar’, He is awarded Centenary Award at IFFI 2013, Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the Best Director at International Film Festival of Kerala , 2013) and NETPAC Award for his film Meghe Dhaka Tara.
Sekhar Das is a Bengali Movie director, scriptwriter. with four award winning feature films to his credit. ‘Mahulbanir Sereng’, ‘Krantikaal’, ‘Kaler Rakhal’, ‘Necklace’, ‘Nayanchampar dinratri’, ‘Jogajog’ are some important films made by Shri Das.
Sourav Sarangi is an alumnus of FTII, Pune and a notable documentary filmmaker from Bengal. He is popularly known for his documentary ‘Bilal’, ‘Moddhikhane Chor’ and so on. He is awarded several national and international awards for his films.
Shanker Raman is an award winning cinematographer having worked professionally over the last 15 years on several documentaries, shorts, feature films and TV commercials. After completing his bachelor’s in Physics he went on to major in Cinematography from the Film and TV Institute of India, Pune. He is the writer, Executive Producer and Associate Director of the film ‘Frozen’ and the producer of the film ‘Harud’.
Suresh Jindal is the producer of several films including ‘Shatranj ke khilari’ directed by Satyajit Ray. Apart from the films like ‘Rajnigandha’, ‘Gandhi’, ‘Katha’ etc., he has also produced number of documentaries for television.
Sanjoy Mukhopadhyay is an eminent Professor of Film Studies at Jadavpur University. He is mainly known for his writings on cultural modernity in India. He is also a known Ritwik Ghatak scholar and author, as well as a commentator on social issues. Prof. Mukhopadyay has several publications including books.

The advertisements/offer letters are asking the candidates to apply/join for a job opening at SRFTI – Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute and to deposit a certain amount in the form of DD/ cash. The advertisements/appointment letter are falsely stated to be from various Departments of SRFTI or even from the office of Director/Chairman.
SRFTI has not issued any such advertisement/ offer letter. Please note that SRFTI bears no responsibility for amounts being deposited in response to such advertisements / offer letters. SRFTI being an government Institution publish advertisement against any recruitment in the newspaper and the same is also displayed in the website under vacancy section.

Studied Graphic Art at Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. After a brief stint in television with Television 18 India Ltd he went on to do his Masters in Graphic Art from M.S. University of Baroda, where he taught for a year after graduating. He joined Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in 1999. He further studied Animation Film Production at DeAnza College, California, USA, while working at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. He has written, produced and directed two independent short animation films.
